Chocolate Tuesday; so good I covered myself in it

NOT as bizarre as it sounds I love chocolate, I love skincare, it was only a matter of time before I mixed my passions…

Rating ; Chokky-wooky-oh-LaLa, a mid week treat for your skin and yourself!  Following nicely on from Coco Loco Monday Manic Monday? Don’t go Mad : go CoCo!! comes Choccie Tuesday.  Ok you got me I AM partial to more than a cube of chocolate (ALWAYS from fridge for me) but recently I’ve begun to cover myself in it too!!!   MASSIVE anti-ageing benefits for older skin, or any skin really.

Inside scoop ; Chocolate skincare isn’t as weird as it sounds and like it’s edible companion it’ll soon be my next addiction.  Why because it’s packed full of antioxidants and makes your skin feel great.  True reason why, it just kind of feels a little bit secretly dirty, indulgent and YUMMY.

Top of my Willy wonka skin list is a beauty brand fav of mine Lush with their chocolate mask .  Straight out of the choc factory this smells rich dark and indulgent and just glides on for a yummy mid week masking treat.

My other recent mask post, also reflecting, oddly contains a food ingredient too! Honey ; Behind the MASK ; to Mask or not to Mask? Hmm note to self must not obsess ONLY about food.

LUSH Lush Lush Cupcake face mask yummy scrummy AND anti-ageing!

I also came across this brilliant article in Eluxe magazine with a top 5 choctastic skin treats INCUDLING edible skincare oh yessss please did I say the diet starts Monday – sure NEXT Monday #saideveryoneever! Eluxe Mag article here.

They say ; Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto your face and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.

Cocoa Loco this one is a choc lovers heaven, Heaven Scented, AND effective

Tam’s tip; Do this one on a QUIET night alone cos yes it is a little messy  – but it’s worth it.  Sure you look like you’ve emerged from a swamp but it gently tightens, lifts out impurities and leaves ANY age skin kind of softer, kind of with less lines and kind of smoother PLUS you feel like you’ve achieved a bit of mid-week choc indulgence without the calories!

NOTE : I DELIBERATELY did NOT post the obligatory ‘insta-mask’ pic that’s so village, so yesterday.  EVERY one these days is posting pics of themselves in the latest masks /masques; we get it, you mask well done Celebs ; but remember we ALL look the same in a face mask no matter how you filter up the pic : slightly scary, slightly silly, slightly just well gruesome, but with a ‘heck I don’t care it’s worth it’ look.  So hold the pics : go hard on the mask.

SECRET INGREDIENT : got to be the mint (who DOESN’T love mint choc chip ice cream) but I reckon it’s the mint that gives this a super charged edge by tightening skin and lifting out dirt.  I’m a mask fan, once a week at least and this one well, works AND puts a smile on my face.

Let me know what’s you think of this one & do leave me a comment
