Rating ; Matte-er of fact anyone can wear Matte; so let’s talk High Street vs. High Chic. I put New Look vs. VB’s Matte-tastic shades to the test and guess what : the High Street has it every time on this one.
Inside scoop; Matte Matters. Lips hottest trend this season is Matte. From beige-to-nude to darkest Venom Berry it’s the must-try lipstick texture. Long-lasting, day-night wear it’s a great option for non-transfer glamour & really easy to wear. I put Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder’s [on left] & New Look’s latest matte blends [on right] into the ring – POW – the High Street took it. Erm by about £28 too!
Matte shades are everywhere this season, in fact they’ve been around for a while but have undergone a bit of a lip-volution this year. Previously crease-making, clumpy, fairly heavy textures, have been replaced by feather like, feels like air textures in every shade you can think of. The barely there / pink : beige are the best to start out with, as the newer heavy colours can look a little harsh on anything but the youngest.
New Look’s Matte tastic lipstick
Available in a raft of easy-to-wear-suit-all shades today I’m wearing the one below Terracotta. I also have Rose Quartz above which at £2 in the sale you could buy a few & it makes it a low-risk lip smacking purchase for an easy late summer freshen up look.
