Rating ; I take it all back I’m just not ready for BERRY yet in fact I’ll confess I’m “seasonally confused”. I’m not quite ready to switch to full knitwear, I’m still in some t-shirts but I have put my heating on twice now (shh don’t tell). So what to wear ; on your lips.
Inside scoop ; If you’re suffering from Seasonal Lip Anxiety SLA : ok yes you got me I DID just make that up…can I recommend middle of the road. In colour terms. Don’t go full on Berry Bold : do park the pink & bin the beige : settle for ‘neutral’…DON’T skimp on the texture…

Rating ; Marvelous Moxie (fab name isn’t it?) is a sumptuous scrumptious totally tingle-tastic tangy range of glide-on lip glosses (and more) from the clever folks @bareMinerals and for me their lip glosses steal the show.

I digress, so for lips it’s all about the day and the mood for me, I know people who have literally one colour, one brand, one shade, one texture, they wear day in day out, their ‘signature colour’… giant yawn no way. Not me! I’ve always liked variety (men, jewellery, lip gloss, or whatever!). So I tend to match the shade : to the day : to the mood : to the outfit to the texture ; or somewhere in between ; pretty much I experiment.
AGE ALERT ; gloss is NOT only for the super young super cool I’ve been wearing it for years and with the right application / right product it can even last all day.

Rating ; Matte-er of fact anyone can wear Matte; so let’s talk High Street vs. High Chic. I put New Look vs. VB’s Matte-tastic shades to the test and guess what : the High Street has it every time on this one.
Inside scoop; Matte Matters. Lips hottest trend this season is Matte. From beige-to-nude to darkest Venom Berry it’s the must-try lipstick texture. Long-lasting, day-night wear it’s a great option for non-transfer glamour & really easy to wear. I put Victoria Beckham for Estee Lauder’s [on left] & New Look’s latest matte blends [on right] into the ring – POW – the High Street took it. Erm by about £28 too!
Matte shades are everywhere this season, in fact they’ve been around for a while but have undergone a bit of a lip-volution this year. Previously crease-making, clumpy, fairly heavy textures, have been replaced by feather like, feels like air textures in every shade you can think of. The barely there / pink : beige are the best to start out with, as the newer heavy colours can look a little harsh on anything but the youngest.
